Tony Haranas returns to the Stage at the tender age of 50!
After 4 years away from the competitive scene I finally made my much anticipated return winning both the Victorian and Australian over 50's titles.
However the biggest thrill was the condition I managed to get my old body in.
At the Australian titles held in Canberra I weighed in just under 90Kg's and was the leanest and driest I've ever been.
My size and condition was clearly the best I've ever attained which dispels the age myth.
Quite frankly, I honestly believe age in this game only makes you better provided you are prepared to do the extremely hard yards and at this age there is no place for complacency every part of the prep has to be spot on.
The journey was a long one having decided to compete last year I was forced to abandon my plans due to work commitments and focus on this year.
The dieting lasted 15 weeks with 10 cardiovascular sessions per week but this allowed me a cheat day every couple of weeks which kept me sane.
I trained my proverbial off with with a number of people Don, Doni and Yvette were all there for me as was Lisa who kept me honest during the latter stages of my prep and of cause the Hubster (Big Phil Karlhuber) who honed my posing.
A special thanks also to Jo and Damian who traveled to Canberra to be my cheer squad and young Aaron Cooper who won the junior Mr Australia who helped me back stage.
